Remove hidden photo data, including GPS location, camera model, and the date and time, before sharing a photo. Your photo is cleaned on your device and never uploaded.
Information cameras and phones save inside photos, such as the camera model, settings, date and time, and often the exact GPS location where the photo was taken.
A photo's GPS location can reveal where you live or work. Some sites remove this data when you upload, but email, messaging apps, and many websites keep it.
The picture is saved again, so JPG and WebP photos go through compression once more. Choose Best (95) to keep nearly all detail. One side effect: phones sometimes record rotation in EXIF, and the cleaned copy is saved the way your browser shows the photo, so it keeps the right way up.
