Convert PNG images to WebP for faster websites. WebP keeps transparency and is usually much smaller than PNG. Your images are converted on your device and never uploaded.

How It Works

  1. Choose a PNG: Select a PNG image, or drop it onto the converter.
  2. Pick a Quality: Good (80) suits most images. Use a higher quality for sharp text and line art.
  3. Resize (Optional): Set a width or height to make the image smaller still.
  4. Download: Save the WebP file, named after your original image.

Key Features

Frequently Asked Questions

Does WebP keep the transparency from my PNG?

Yes. WebP supports transparency, so logos, icons, and other images with see-through areas keep it.

Will my image lose quality?

This converter makes lossy WebP, which removes detail you are unlikely to notice in exchange for a much smaller file. For text, line art, or pixel art, choose Best (95), or keep the PNG.

Do all browsers show WebP images?

Yes. Every current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari shows WebP images, so it is safe to use on websites.

Why is my WebP file larger than the PNG?

Small, simple graphics with few colors are sometimes smaller as PNG. The converter tells you when the new file is larger, so you can keep the original.
